General Administration and Conference


 

The Department of General Administration and Conference was created in 2014 as a result of the separation of the Administration and Conference Function from the former Department of Administration and Finance. It became functional on 1st February 2014. The Department was set up with the mission and vision to provide an efficient administrative support to all other Departments that will enable them deliver effective services to the ECOWAS region.

In order to achieve its mission and vision the department provides General Administrative support to all other Departments, including custody and keeping of records of all assets of ECOWAS and their utilization, maintenance of all ECOWAS assets, management of logistics (including transportation), management of insurances (of staff and assets), and management of security for ECOWAS. The department also ensures the Management of the procurement function.

It is in charge of organizing all conferences and meetings, including provision of language services, management of all travel arrangements, as well as the management of protocol matters for ECOWAS. The Department is located in the ECOWAS Headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria, under the leadership of Vafolay Mbandoe TULAY as the Commissioner.
